The development concept is completely offshore (no need for deep water harbor or onshore facilities). The four areas to be offered initially to develop the project were defined considering priority sites for conservation, ecologically relevant elements and to minimize interference with human activities (transit and maritime operations, fishing, submarine cables) as well as contributions from industry and specialists. These blocks have an average area of approximately 700km2, and are located more than 42 km offshore in water depths of approximately 20 to 50 meters off the coast of Uruguay.
