It will help ease overcrowding in hospitals that have had to take patients that would normally be seen in the now defunct San Alejandro facility. The hospital will be built on the site of the abandoned CIMA hospital in the area of Puebla known as Angelopólis. It will offer 35 specialties, among them: gastroenterology, neurology, dermatology, gynecology and emergencies. It will also have ambulatory services such as surgery and therapy. In addition, the hospital will have operating rooms for Toco Surgery and for surgical interventions, and there will be a space for auxiliary diagnostic services such as laboratory and chemotherapy, as well as a neonatal and adult intensive care unit. The new hospital will employ 621 collaborators; 671 nursing staff; 308 medical personnel, mostly specialized; with a total of 1,600 authorized positions.
