Description: The Ica biodiesel project entails planting 50,000ha of jatropha in the areas of Pampa de Huayuri, Pampa Las Mesas and Pampa Gamonal in Peru's Ica region. The goal is to advance in 5,000ha increments to reach 50,000ha within 10 year. According to Heaven Petroleum Operators, 3.7t/year/ha of jatropha is expected to be harvested to produce 1,235g (4,675l) of biodiesel. The feedstock will be transported to the company's 3,000b/d biodiesel plant in Lurín, south of metropolitan Lima. The project is being developed by Peruvian company Heaven Petroleum Operators, through subsidiary Bio Agro Heaven del Sur.
