Ie-Tram Electric Bus Corridor

Description: The project contemplates the construction of the first electric transportation system in the southeast of Mexico, which will meet the need to connect Mérida with the municipalities of Kanasín and Umán, linking more than 137 neighborhoods, as well as with more than 100 bus routes, benefiting to about 200 thousand people. The project will utilize unused railroad easements, and 32 all-electric units will be able to operate in the corridor. The journey will have 5 routes: La Plancha - Teya (Mayan Train Station) Improved Center - La Plancha – Kanasín La Plancha - Faculty of Engineering La Plancha-Umán La Plancha-Poxilá The use of 25 to 30 units is considered, which will be equipped with security systems for speed control, as well as optimization of the handling of operators, USB chargers, WiFi, Braille buttons, real-time geolocator, information for the passenger and interior vinyls. The IE-TRAM will be accessible with its four sliding doors, low entrances, seating arrangement and interior layout with large circulation aisles, signaling of seats reserved for wheelchairs, audible information on the stop request and technology for electronic collection. The project will be 100% electric with 0 emissions, reducing noise pollution; The C02 it absorbs is equivalent to more than 170,000 trees planted over 10 years.
