Description: Iron Scrap Processing Project at Cerro Imán Mine Mining development projects over 5,000 tons/month The “Iron Scrap Processing at Cerro Imán Mine” Project consists of obtaining iron concentrate by processing old plant reject dumps and clearings from the Cerro Imán mine, which have commercial value given the current iron prices in the international market. The project is located approximately 14 km NW of the city of Copiapó, in the Copiapó Commune, Copiapó Province, Atacama Region. The objective of the project that is subject to environmental impact assessment is the processing of old iron waste, to produce approximately 4.3 million tons of iron concentrate during the useful life of the project, in a dry processing plant at a rate of up to 90 thousand tons per month.
