Description: The initiative aims for the need to increase Uruguay's electric production to adapt it to the increasing industrial and domestic demand. For this reason, it will be used solar energy, an abundant resource in the Salto department, to produce energy through a clean and renewable source which helps to diversify the energy matrix of the country. The project involves the construction and operation of a solar plant formed of 25-35 photovoltaic. During the construction phase 120 temporary construction jobs will need to be filled. The solar plant will supply 100% of its energy to UTE and supply the electrical needs of approximately 35,000 households while reducing around 74,142t/y of CO2 emissions.
