Lithium

Description: The Project corresponds to an energy storage project, which consists of the acquisition, construction, installation, assembly and operation of an electrical energy storage system using batteries of the BESS type with assembled BS, in accordance with the technical standard "RGR technical instruction No. 06/2020". The material is from lithium-ferrophosphate batteries. The Project will withdraw energy from the Curacautín Electrical Substation, then store it in the batteries of the Energy Storage System and finally return it to the same substation. The Project will have a maximum storage capacity of approximately 40 MWh (for up to 5 hours), with a useful life of 30 years, with the possibility of extension. The temporary and permanent works of the project will occupy an approximate area of 1.28 hectares. The permanent works contemplate the installation of the energy storage system (through 58 battery containers, 13 compensation containers), in addition to the necessary complementary infrastructure, consisting of a 23/66kV booster electrical substation and a 23/66kV Transmission Line. simple 66kV (high voltage) circuit of approximately 122 meters in length, which will connect with the Curacautín Electrical Substation. As a temporary work, during the construction period, an area for work facilities of approximately 964 m2 is contemplated. The objective of the project is to increase the energy efficiency of the National Electric System (SEN) from the Curacautín Substation, through the construction and operation of an Energy Storage System that will allow energy to be withdrawn in periods of lower demand and injected when required.
