Left Bank Collector (CMI) - Riachuelo System (Lot 1)

Description: The work will allow transporting the effluents served from the City of Buenos Aires and part of the Greater Buenos Aires, connecting in the flows of the Cloaca Máxima, and improving the operational flexibility and integral functioning of the water system. The complementary works will allow intercepting and capturing the flows in dry weather of pluvial and streams with overturning to the Riachuelo to lead them to treatment. It is composed of three different large works connected to each other: Left Bank Collector: It will intercept and transport, when it does not rain, the sewage drains that are clandestinely found in the rainwater outlets and streams of the City of Buenos Aires that flow into the Riachuelo. It includes two sections, one of 1.6 km and another of 9.5 km. Baja Costanera Collector Diversion: This 5.2 km project will transport the liquids received from the future Left Margin Collector, the Baja Costanera Expansion and the current Baja Costanera Collector, and will lead them to the Pre-treatment Plant. 10 Complementary Works that run perpendicularly to the main Collector and have the function of diverting part of the flows transported by the 2nd and 3rd Sewers Máximas and by the current Baja Costanera Collector that today are conducted towards Berazategui. All the complementary works will be carried out using the pipe jacking methodology. Sewage pumping stations will also be disinfected and, when it does not rain, the sewage liquid present in the rainwater and streams of the City of Buenos Aires that flow directly into the Riachuelo will be intercepted to lead them to treatment. The project is part of the Riachuelo-Matanza cleanup program that will help decontaminate the wastewater that is discharged into the De la Plata river.
