Tegucigalpa beltway-CA-5 Sur highway bypass (Tegucigalpa-La Venta Highway, Stretch 4: Subsection Santa Rosa-La Cañada)

Description: The project involves building a new bypass between Tegucigalpa and Highway CA-5 Sur. It will improve access to the capital for those traveling from the south and present a more efficient connection between the Tegucigalpa ring road and Route A-5. The project will contribute to regional and national economic development and resolve the existing problem of highway congestion. It will also make travel in the area safer and reduce vehicle operating costs and travel times. The construction of the beltway is from Tegucigalpa to the CA-5 South Highway, specifically from Colonia La Cañada (sector of the Peripheral Ring Road) to Colonia Santa Rosa in the sector of Aldea El Tizatillo, at kilometer 7.4 with the CA-5 South Highway. The roadway is expected to help reduce congestion on the CA-5 south highway, which does not have the capacity to handle all the traffic in the area despite being completed just in 2018.
