This stretch will become part of the future metro line No.4. Line No.2 (including the airport branch line) will have 35 stations and pass through 13 districts. The line will also connect with metro line No.1, the Metropolitano BRT system and future lines No.3, No.4 and No.6. Of the 35 stations, 27 are on line No. 2 and the remaining eight will be part of line No. 4. Once completed, the line will have the capacity to transport up to 660,000 passengers a day. Lima's metro line No.2 will run underground east to west from Ate municipality to Callao port. The project is included in the National Infrastructure Plan for Competitiveness (PNI) and will link ten districts of Lima and Callao. The project consists of four stages: Stage 1A Stage 1B: 11 stations from Plaza Bolognesi station (E-12), in Cercado de Lima, to San Juan de Dios station (E-19), in San Luis, and from Vista Alegre station (E-25) to Municipalidad de Ate station (E-27), in Ate. Stage 2 - L2 Stage 2- L4 Branch Line It will have the capacity to transport 660 thousand passengers per day, which would translate into around 1.2 million trips per day.
