The line will help relieve congestion on the Line 15-Prata monorail, and will also allow connections to other lines in the São Paulo network, specifically Line 4-Amarela , 1-Azul, 2-Verde , 10-Turquesa and 19-Celeste , once the latter is built. The new line will be able to transport around 825 thousand people daily, from the eastern end of the city, in Cidade Tiradentes, to the Oscar Freire station, in Jardim Paulista. The concession covers 8 years of construction and 22 years of operation. The project is part of the Partnership and Investment Programme (PPI-SP) and the SP nos Trilhos programme.
