Although it bears the name Tren Ligero, it will use a Digital Rail Transit (DRT) model of electric buses. The line would connect the municipalities of El Salto, Tlajomulco, Tlaquepaque, Zapopan and Guadalajara, and would run from Guadalajara International Airport to Akron Stadium, using existing railroad rights-of-way. The route will be: From Guadalajara International Airport to the Macro Periférico, passing through Carretera a Chapala Connection with El Alamo, in Tlaquepaque Dr. R. Michel and González Gallo Avenues in the vicinity of the Agua Azul Park - Cultural Market, Central Vieja Chapultepec, Mariano Otero, the Children Heroes Roundabout, the IMSS Clinic 89 Agustín Yáñez bypass towards Avenida Inglaterra along the right of way to the Akron stadium La Minerva, Gran Plaza, near Plaza Galerías, until reaching the Akron stadium and Aviación Avenue The works will be divided into two stages. The first stage covers the route from the airport to the Agua Azul Park, while the second stage will continue until reaching the Akron stadium.
