Description: Drainage works in the municipality of Juiz de Fora/MG. Considering that the interventions are located in strategic points of the municipality, center and western region (São Pedro), main exits from the city via BR040 and BR267, through the southern region (Santa Luzia) and the northern region (Humaitá), in flood situations all mobility is significantly impacted, therefore, we consider that the entire population will benefit directly: 540,756 people. The population residing in areas of hydrological risk covered by the projects is 9,951 inhabitants. After carrying out macro-drainage works in the municipality of Juiz de Fora/MG, one of the main problems to be solved is the management and maintenance of the drainage systems. These works aim to control and direct the flow of rainwater to prevent flooding and inundation, as a response to extreme weather events. Reducing the risk and severity of flooding, improving the quality of life of residents in the region, increasing the value of real estate in the area, protecting infrastructure by reducing the need for repairs and the loss of public and private assets, sustainable development, improving urban mobility, reducing public health problems and saving resources.
