The trunk road is divided into the following Functional Units (UF): UF 1: El Trique and Two and a Half UF 2: Bárbula-PR 52 Battalion UF 3: PR 52 - Puerto Araujo UF 4: Puerto Araujo - Cimirarra UF 5: Puerto Salgar UF 6: Puerto Parra - Black Waters UF 7: Black Waters - New Port UF 8: New Port - PR 107/RN 4511 UF 9: PR 107/RN 4511 - Field 23 UF 10: Field 23 - Camacho Ranch UF 11: Puerto Parra - Barrancabermeja UF 12: Barrancabermeja - La Lizama, La Lizama - Sogamoso River The construction of the project will bring a saving of up to two hours on the Puerto Salgar – Barrancabermeja (Rio Sogamoso) route. Pre-construction will take one year and construction will take four years.
