Description: The concession project seeks to replace 3,000 buses as part of a plan to renew Panama City's bus fleet. Under a 15-year contract, the concessionaire will supply buses and operate a fully integrated fleet management system. The high-capacity buses, designed to transport passengers, will include air conditioning, separate entrance and exit doors, and bus bells. The system will guarantee efficient bus routes and high frequency, and decrease average wait time at bus stops. Panama's government will set a single bus fare rate of US$0.45 for a year or until acquisition of the new fleet has been completed.
