CONCESSION: MG-424 Highway

Description: The project seeks to concession the MG-424 highway, located in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, state of Minas Gerais. The granted section has a length of 51 kilometers and runs from the MG-010 road, in Vespasiano, to the entrance to Sete Lagoas. The section also passes through the municipalities of São José da Lapa, Pedro Leopoldo, Confins, Matozinhos and Prudente de Morais. Among other interventions, the contract, with a duration of 30 years, provides for the construction of the Matozinhos and Prudente de Morais ring road; the duplication of 12.7 kilometers of highway; the construction of 29.6 kilometers of additional lanes; the construction of 10.2 kilometers of shoulders; 19 access improvements, two walkways, 25 expanded roundabouts, 6 complete interchanges and 32 bus stops. It is estimated that all works will be completed within six years. The initial works, which include lane maintenance and improvements to the road section, must be completed in 9 months, when only toll collection will be authorized. The estimated value of the contract is 672mn reais in works and improvements that will bring benefits to cities, seriously affected by the volume of trailers and heavy vehicles traveling in the region. The concession is expected to generate more than 230 direct jobs.
