The stretch of road is expected to directly benefit about 200,000 people, including agricultural producers living between Santa Cruz and Cochabamba who transport their goods by road, reducing travel times and accidents. The stretch is part of the two-lane highway Cristal Mayu-Montero, which is also a big component of Bolivia's East-West corridor. This highway section is in Santa Cruz department and passes through the municipalities of Montero, Portachuelo, Buena Vista, San Carlos and Yapacaní. The project promises a reduction in average travel time on the road section. In terms of speed, the current average speed is 57 km/h, the projected speed is 81 km/h. The project has been structured in the following components: Component 1: Civil works, road safety and technical and environmental supervision. Component 2: Social Viabilization Component 3: Project Management
