Description: New Providencia Substation, New 2x110 kV Vitacura - Providencia Underground Transmission Line and Modifications in Vitacura Substation High-voltage electrical transmission lines Sociedad Transmisora Metropolitana II SA submits for environmental assessment the project “New Providencia Substation, New 2x110 kV Vitacura Underground Transmission Line - Providencia and Modifications in Vitacura Substation.", which consists of the construction of a new Substation, called Providencia Substation, with GIS technology in the Providencia district and the construction of a new underground transmission line of approximately 2.6 km, double circuit in 110 kV and 200 MVA of transmission capacity per circuit, coming from the Vitacura Substation in the Las Condes commune. In addition, the Project considers the modification of the busbar and common facilities of the 110 kV yard of the existing Vitacura Substation, in order to allow the connection of the new interconnection line with the new Providencia substation. The Project that is presented for evaluation, has the objective of building a new Substation, called Providencia Substation, a new 2x110 kV Underground Electric Transmission Line in the Vitacura - Providencia section and modifications in the Vitacura Substation, specifically in the 110 kV yard for the arrival of the new underground line. Finally, the construction of the Project is intended to supply the electricity demand of current and future regulated and free customers in the northeastern sector of Santiago, as well as maintaining the sufficiency of the Vitacura, Apoquindo and Alonso de Córdova substations.
