New Raw Water Intake in Gamboa and Adduction Line from Gamboa to Paraíso (Panama Canal Water Program)

Description: The project consists of the design and construction of a new facility for raw water intake in Gamboa to supply and guarantee the uninterrupted operation and maximum capacity of the Miraflores Water Treatment Plant and a new adduction pipeline from Gamboa to Paraíso. All work will be carried out with the necessary equipment and machinery for safe installation in the field. The vertical turbine type pumps will be installed with their respective accessories, adjustments will be made to the high, medium and low voltage electrical distribution system and the associated control systems, to power the new pumping equipment and to improve the level of redundancy of the system. electrical distribution, and the design and construction of the building of the new Gamboa raw water pumping station, which will consist of a reinforced concrete structure with beams and columns, with a zinc roof and galvanized strollers, with walls of blocks and with a reinforced concrete base, along with their respective pipes, valves, meters and accessories. This initiative is part of the Panama Canal Water Program, which has several components and seeks projects that contribute to meeting the demand for water for the next 50 years, both to meet the consumption needs of purification that mostly receive water from purification plants. that extract raw water from the lakes of the Panama Canal Hydrographic Basin, as well as for the transit of ships through the Canal.
