New San José Hub Substation First Stage and 220 kV Transmission Line San José Repartición Hub (Arequipa), expansions and associated substations (ITC Project)

Description: The project includes the construction of the following facilities: Lines of transmission New 220 kV Transmission Line Hub San José – Repartimiento: New 220 kV transmission line that will link the Hub San José and Repartición substations; It will be a double triple with an approximate length of 17.4 km and a permanent transmission capacity of 250 MVA per triple. New 220 kV Transmission Line San José – San José Hub: New 220 kV transmission line that will link the San José – San José Hub substations; It will be a double triple with an approximate length of 3.9 km and a permanent transmission capacity of 450 MVA per triple. New Transmission Line at 138 kV Repartimiento – Majes (second circuit): New transmission line at 138 kV that will link the Repartición and Majes substations; It will be a simple triple with an approximate length of 46.05 km and a permanent transmission capacity of 120 MVA. New 138 kV Repartición – Mollendo Transmission Line (second circuit): New 138 kV transmission line that will link the Repartición and Mollendo substations; It will be a simple triple with an approximate length of 69.5 km and a permanent transmission capacity of 120 MVA. Substations 220 kV San José Hub Substation (First Stage): The San José Hub substation - 220/500 kV with air insulation technology (AIS), will have a double bar type configuration plus a 220 kV transfer disconnector (projected installations) and switch and a half at 500 kV (future installations). Expansion of the Distribution Substation - 220/138 kV: The expansion of the 220/138 kV Distribution substation with air insulation technology (AIS) will have a double bus type configuration plus transfer disconnector at 220 kV, a single bus configuration at 138 kV (prepared for double bus in the future) and a single bus configuration at 13.8 kV. Expansion of the Majes 138 kV Substation: The expansion of the Majes 138 kV substation with air insulation technology (AIS) will have a simple bar type configuration. Extension of the Mollendo 138 kV Substation The expansion of the Mollendo 138 kV substation with air insulation technology (AIS) will have a simple bar type configuration. Expansion of the San José 220 kV Substation: The San José 500/220 kV substation with air insulation technology (AIS) and has a switch-and-a-half type configuration at 500 kV and double busbar at 220 kV. It belongs to the Cerro Verde Company and currently does not have enough spaces within its perimeter to house the new planned 220 kV line cells; Therefore, it will be necessary to implement the expansion adjacent to the perimeter of the existing SE, making it necessary to extend the existing 220 kV “double bus” system. The project aims to improve the reliability and increase the transmission capacity at 138 kV of the Repartimiento, Majes and Mollendo electrical system. The area of influence of the project is developed in the southern part of the country, in the department of Arequipa. The area of influence includes the electrical demand of the areas of Repartición, Majes and Mollendo. The project has an implementation period of 50 months that includes 27 months to obtain the EIA, 2 months to complete the financial closure and 21 months to execute the work.
