New Sectioning Substation Cerros de Huichahue

Description: The Project consists of the complete construction of a new substation, called "New Substation of Cerros de Huichahue", whose main purpose will be to section the 2X220 Ciruelos-Pichirropulli Line. The Project includes the construction of: a new substation in a switch configuration and an isolated medium in air (AIS), two diagonals for the sectioning and the enabling of additional space for two bar diagonals for future potential generation projects in the area, activities that do not correspond to this Project and will be evaluated by third parties when appropriate. The Project also includes the platform, urbanization, closures, roads, grounding grid, construction of a new general services house, construction of the main bars, the incorporation of a control, protection and telecommunications system, incorporation of a system of surveillance, lighting system, incorporation of a differential protection of bars, among others. In addition, the Project includes four sectioning structures for the existing 2x220 Ciruelos-Pichirropulli line, between existing structures 116 and 117: two of them will be located within the Line's security strip, so they will be located in an area currently intervened and cleared according to the successive maintenance of the same, while the other two structures will be located within the cloth considered for the Project. Likewise, the Project includes a fire wall as a preventive measure consisting of a buffer area for the electrical installations of the substation and two of the sectioning structures considered. This firewall will allow a distance of 20 m between the equipment and the surrounding vegetation, in order to provide protection against forest fires. To execute the works of the Project it will be necessary to count on the support of two temporary works, this is a work site and mobile fronts, works that will be demobilized once the construction phase is concluded. Objective The Project is part of the Expansion Plan of the Trunk Transmission System decreed by the Ministry of Energy, as stated in Exempt Decree No. 422 of August 18, 2017 (attached in Annex 1-2). Decree in which various works of modifications to the trunk system are indicated, necessary for its operation. The Project responds to the need to improve the reliability of the existing 2x220 Ciruelos-Pichirropulli line, also allowing the connection of new sources of generation or distribution of energy.
