Phase IV is considered the final phase of the multi-year initiative. The project will directly benefit approximately 2.6 million inhabitants of the metropolitan area of the São Paulo city. The plan contemplates connecting the drains of about 880,000 homes to wastewater treatment plants, which will be expanded through this financing. The works will also offer new connections to the health network to more than 406,000 homes. The improvement plan for wastewater treatment will be concentrated mainly in the municipalities of Jandira, Barueri, Santana de Paraíba, Itapevi, São Paulo, Osasco, Itapecerica da Serra, Carapicuíba, Embu das Artes, Ferraz de Vasconcelos and Itaquaquecetuba, all located in the metropolitan region of the São Paulo city. The project contemplates the construction of about 360 kilometers of sanitary sewerage, between collection networks, interceptors and collectors; as well as technological improvements and expansion of three wastewater treatment plants. Likewise, the project includes an institutional improvement plan that will promote the introduction of innovative technology solutions at the operational level in SABESP, with a view to guaranteeing the sustainability of the program's investments.
