Description: The project calls for the construction, installation, startup, operation and maintenance of a solar facility consisting of 86,400 PV panels connected to twenty 1,000kWA inverters. The initiative is contracted under a 28-year PPA with Uruguay's state power company UTE. Under the terms of the PPA, UTE will purchase all energy produced by the Tomás Gomensoro project for the duration of the contract. The solar plant was developed by Spanish solar developer Solarpack through subsidiary Alto Cielo S.A., which was subsequently sold to US-based renewable energy giant SunEdision and then to its publicly-traded yieldco TerraForm Global.
