A location near the Panama Canal was selected to facilitate access for global and regional natural gas shipping companies, and for the future regasification terminal in prospect. The project will evacuate energy to the point of greatest consumption through the Telfers – Sabanitas transmission line. The plant would contribute to the drop in the price of energy in Panama and to displace the use of bunkers and diesel as sources of energy generation.
