In a first stage, the installation of a port terminal for Feeder-type container ships is contemplated, as well as the provision of additional docking sites. In the long term, the expansion of the port is planned to double its docking capacity, allowing the operation of different types of cargo and vessels. The port is expected to provide services to all industrial and civil activities in the area, on a property of more than 200 hectares located on the northern coast of the town. The project is expected to generate around 700 jobs during its construction, with an expected completion period of 36 months.
