Potosí Air Cable

Description: The project consists of the construction of the third electric cable in Bogotá, benefiting more than 600,000 people, inhabitants of this town and Altos de Cazucá, a neighborhood located on the outskirts of Bogotá, on the border with the municipality of Soacha. This new transportation system will allow people to save around forty minutes on their transfers, with an estimated travel time of nine minutes from Potosí to the Portal del Sur station. Once the aerial cable is operational, the population of Ciudad Bolívar and residents of the municipality of Soacha will be able to easily connect with other transportation systems such as TransMilenio and the future third line of the Metro . Additionally, it is planned to develop an urban revitalization process in conjunction with other district entities, so that, with the construction of the aerial cable, public space is recovered. For the construction of the cable, 402 properties are required, of which twelve properties should not be acquired because they are property of the District. The new aerial cable will transport 4,000 passengers per hour in each direction. It will have 189 cabins that can carry 10 passengers each.
