Description: The project entails the construction and operation of a wind farm, made up of 50 wind trubines of 2MW each distributed over 1,241ha, in the commune of María Elena, province of Tocopilla, region of Antofagasta, Chile. The initiative, which will inject the energy produced into the Norte Grande Interconnected System (SING), will require 100 workers for its construction and 12 people for its operation. The wind farm is expected to generate 254,000MWh and supply enough clean energy to power 50,000 households. The project is expected to offset 180,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year.
