It includes 3 tunnels, 6 viaducts, 2 grade-separated interchanges, 2 emergency ramps for braking and a toll plaza. It is located in the State of Hidalgo, on the Pachuca-Tempoal Federal Highway, which in turn is part of the Mexico-Pachuca-Tampico Intertroncal Corridor, which connects the central area with the northeast of Mexico.
