Description: The project involves the construction of the RIO2 data center, which will expand the existing RIO1 data center, located in the São Cristóvão neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro. This facility will be carrier-neutral and targeted at hyperscale customers. RIO2 will have access to renewable energy sources and will rely on an established ecosystem of more than 50 network and cloud providers, as well as diversified metropolitan and long-distance connectivity. This data center will be close to international submarine cables that land in Rio de Janeiro, allowing for reduced latency between Latin America and other geographies.
