Route 5, Temuco - Río Bueno section and access to Valdivia (2nd concession)

Description: The project corresponds to the new concession of Route 5 (Pan-American Highway) between Río Bueno and Temuco. It covers the regions of La Araucanía and Los Ríos, passing through the communes of Gorbea and Loncoche, in the province of Cautín; Lanco, Mariquina, Máfil, Los Lagos and Paillaco, in the province of Valdivia; and La Unión and Río Bueno, in the province of Ranco. Among the benefits of the work, it stands out that it will improve connectivity in the south of the country and will favor commercial, tourist and agro-industrial exchange in the region. In addition to generating jobs related to the construction and operation of the works. The project will modernize the route in terms of safety and service, incorporates a bypass to the city of Los Lagos, in the commune of the same name, and introduces the electronic payment system gradually along with manual payment, improving the relationship with the communities . The modernization of the route will allow savings in travel times and fuel, thanks to the rectification of curves and slopes that allow safe circulation at a speed of 120 km/h. The investment in the new concession of the Temuco Río Bueno section will generate around 3,500 average monthly jobs during the construction phase. The peak is expected to be recorded in 2031, the year in which the programmed investment is estimated to generate an approximate stock of 6,300 jobs per month.
