Description: San Dimas is a gold-silver mine operated by Canadian company Primero Mining, which acquired 100% of the mine in 2010. San Dimas has been mined since the eighteenth century. Production in 2014 is estimated at 115,000-125,000oz of gold and 6.25-6.50Moz of silver, with an approximate cost of US$575-600/oz. San Dimas produced 46,248oz gold equivalent (32,895oz of gold and 1.5Moz million of silver) during 2Q14, 18% more than the same period in 2013. In July 2014, Primero Mining announced an expansion project to mill up to 3,000t/d / increase gold production to 210,000-220,000oz per year. Construction will begin in 2015 and end in the second quarter of 2016. The expansion has an IRR (internal rate of return) of 78% and is expected to reduce the operation's cash costs by US$50/oz.
