Description: The project seeks to expand the operations of the existing Quinta Normal intermodal station by connecting it, via rail, to Batuco. The route will have three lanes: two for passengers and one for freight. In the surface section, from Batuco to the area of the old Yungay station, near the Mapocho River, the three tracks will run together, with the cargo route located to the west. In the underground section, the section will run 1.5 km to the Quinta Normal station, specifically under the axis of Matucana Street. In this section, the two passenger routes will enter the new tunnel, while the freight route will use the existing tunnel. The semi-electrified railway will run through the municipalities of Santiago, Quinta Normal, Renca, Quilicura and Lampa (Batuco). It will have connection with lines 3, 5 and 7 of the Santiago Metro, allowing intermodality in Quintal Normal, Matucana, Quilicura and in the future, the connection with the Santiago - Til Til railway service. The project includes the following stations: Quinta Normal (connection to Line 5)  Matucana (connection to Line 7) Renca Quilicura (connection to Line 3) Las Industrias Valle Grande Colina  Batuco The project will connect Santiago with Batuco in only 23 minutes, leaving behind the 1 hour and 30 minutes that the trip currently takes, strengthening public transportation in the northern area of the Metropolitan Region for districts or sectors such as Quinta Normal, Matucana, Renca, Quilicura, Las Industrias, Valle Grande and Batuco. The project will have three tracks to Las Industrias station (two for passengers and one for freight) and two to Batuco (one for passengers and one for freight). Among other important features of the service is that it will have an integrated fare to RED by means of the BIP card, between Santiago and Valle Grande in Lampa. And at the Colina and Batuco stations, payment will be made per section of the route.
