The project is located within the Cretaceous Iron Belt (CIB) of the Atacama fault zone, a ductile/brittle sinistral strike-slip and dip-slip crustal scale structure that parallels the coast of Chile for over 1,200km. The CIB is a segment of the Atacama fault zone approximately 630km by 40km in dimension that hosts numerous iron oxides–copper–gold (IOCG) type deposits. Elevations in the project area range from approximately 900m above sea level to 1,500m. The region has well established infrastructure (energy, water, transportation and labor) to serve the mining industry. The Santo Domingo property is located 130km north of Copiapó and 7km southeast of the city of Diego de Almagro, in northern Chile's Atacama region (III).
