Description: The project involves the extension of metro line No. 2 in Dominican Republic capital Santo Domingo totaling 3.25km in new subway line. The initiative is being developed by local public transport authority Opret and involves an investment of US$385mn. Work includes the construction of a 1,100m bridge over the Ozama river and four stations. The stations will be located on avenues Venezuela, Fernando de Navarrete and Trina de Moya and near Megacentro (Mella highway). All stations will be underground. The consortium Eurodom 2 (Siemens, CIM/TSO & Sofratesa) will be responsible for the supply and installment of the electromechanical equipment and components for the extension of Line 2.
