São Paulo Thermoelectric Plant (Natural Energia)

Description: The project consists of the construction of a natural gas thermoelectric plant with three independent modules, which will be located on a 25-hectare plot of land in the Jardim Campo Grande neighborhood, municipality of Caçapava, state of Sao Paulo, in Brazil. The plant was designed so that its facilities are flexible, being able to operate with two configurations: 2 combined cycle modules and 1 open cycle module (Configuration 1) or 3 open cycle generation modules (Configuration 2). Each power generation module will be named individually, such as UTE São Paulo 1, UTE São Paulo 2 and UTE São Paulo 3, respectively. The project also includes a transmission line that will connect the plant to the existing 440kV Taubaté-Bom Jardim transmission line, through sectioning. The natural gas that will feed the plant will come from the gas pipeline of the local concessionaire Comgás, which runs along the SP-062 highway in front of the project land. For maximum production, the plant will consume around 7,740,000 Nm3/day of natural gas. Water collection will be carried out through surface collection next to Córrego Caetano, and in four underground collection points located in the area of the São Paulo UTE (Taubaté Aquifer). The treated effluent will be discharged into Ribeirão Caçapava Velha or Boçoroca. Construction of the project will take a total of 42 months. The main objective of the plant is to meet the growing increase in demand for electrical energy in the National Generation System.
