Solar Energy Farm

Description: The “Energética Solar Quinta” Project corresponds to a new solar photovoltaic plant (CSF) that will be located in the region of Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins (hereinafter also O'Higgins), province of Cachapoal, commune of Quinta de Tilcoco. This project will generate energy through the installation of 13,860 photovoltaic modules or panels, that is, an installed power of 9 MW in alternating current (AC). The energy generated must be stored using a BESS battery system (Battery Energy Storage System) with the purpose of being injected, on a deferred basis, into the National Electrical System (SEN). In this sense, the Project considers an integrated system of photovoltaic panels and energy storage. The connection to the SEN will be achieved through the construction of a “connection point” to the “Argomedo” feeder which in turn is connected to the “Quinta de Tilcoco” substation (existing feeder and substation). The project will be developed on an area of approximately 19.82 hectares, while the medium voltage line will have an extension of approximately 261.41 m. The project will be accessed from Route H-56 to the CSF access point. Regarding the operation and surveillance of the CSF, it is clarified that this will be carried out remotely and in real time, also having a Video Surveillance System in the Plant. In the solar field, only maintenance activities, panel cleaning and equipment inspection will be carried out, which will be carried out on a scheduled basis every 6 months. The Project considers a duration of the operation phase of 35 years, which may be extended because the operation (or operation) of the solar plant will depend on technological improvements that allow the equipment to be changed to the extent that market conditions justify the investment. . The objective of the Project is the generation of electrical energy from solar radiation, supplying its generated energy to the existing distribution network, promoting decarbonization, advancing the sustainability of the energy sector and allowing participation in potential opportunities.
