Description: The project comprises floating storage regasification (FSRU) LNG port terminal. The goal is to improve availability and increase the supply of natural gas in Biobío region. The project involves the construction and operation of a maritime terminal island or "offshore" unit, designed for the reception, storage and regasification of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The latter process will generate compressed natural gas (CNG), which will be transported to the shore via an underwater pipeline that will connect with an overland pipeline to connect to the existing natural gas transmission and distribution system. The fuel will meet the demand of local industrial, commercial and residential customers in the region. The terminal will be located at the commune of Penco, in Concepción province.
