Description: The project involves the creation of a new terminal for the export of solid mineral bulk in the sector known as ITG-02 in the Port of Itaguaí, Rio de Janeiro. The new terminal will be another option for the flow of minerals from the Port's area of influence, increasing the capacity of the port complex, and boosting Brazilian competitiveness in foreign trade. The project will generate jobs for the region and improve the economic situation for the State of Rio de Janeiro. The project will be close to existing facilities serving major mining and metals companies such as Vale and CSN . In addition, the area prepared for ITGO2 is connected by a railway to an iron-rich area in the state of Minas Gerais. The terminal area will be used for the movement and storage of solid mineral bulks, especially iron ore. During the construction works, around 2,800 indirect jobs will be created. During the operation phase, it is estimated that more than 250 direct jobs and 1,800 indirect jobs will be created.
