Transfer and Replacement of Chamy Electrical Substation, Radomiro Tomic Division

Description: The project corresponds to the dismantling of the current Chamy substation and the relocation of its connection point within the same existing High Voltage Line (named L16), technological renovation and increase in power from 40 MVA to 70 MVA. For this, the construction of the New Chamy S/E is considered in the sector where Tower No. 30 is located, belonging to the existing High Voltage Electric Line. The current Chamy substation has an essential function of supplying Codelco's Radomiro Tomic Division with 40 MVA to the equipment in the South sector of the mine, including the Sulfide Crusher, and additionally has the auxiliary function of supplying energy to the main equipment of the GIS. of 23 kV from the main S/E through feeders M1 and M2 of DRT3. The current S/E Chamy belongs to the Radomiro Tomic Division, however, it is fed by an existing 100 kV4 High Voltage Power Line (called line L16), which comes from the Chuquicamata substation, belonging to the Chuquicamata Division. Additionally, the dismantling and dismantling of the existing station (5 stations) and the old equipment of the current Chamy substation is considered, which will be sent to the Radomiro Tomic Division warehouses to be reused or sent for final disposal. The project is located adjacent to the pit that is currently in operation of the Radomiro Tomic Division, outside the urban limit of the city of Calama, Commune of Calama, Province of El Loa, Region of Antofagasta. The project is located at a distance, in a straight line, of 20 km north of Calama, 27 km from the town of Chiu Chiu and 28 km from the town of Lasana.
