Description: * TREATMENT PLANT A biological treatment was adopted, combining facultative lagoons with anaerobic lagoons; (a module formed by an Anaerobic lagoon and an optional lagoon). The treatment generally includes the reduction in the concentration of at least one of the four most important constituents in an effluent: Suspended solids; Organic material (biodegradable); Nutrients (mainly nitrogen and phosphorus) and pathogenic microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, etc.) In the primary lagoon there is removal of sedimentable solids, most of the BOD load and microorganisms such as fecal and parasitic coliforms. In the remaining lagoon the permanent reduction of these microorganisms and, on a smaller scale, the remaining organic load is completed. As for the geometry of the lagoons, these will be rectangular in surface, which means that there is less possibility of forming dead zones and short circuits. In order to avoid erosion caused by waves due to winds, gentle slopes are recommended on the embankment embankment slopes, if possible 1 vertically by 3 or 4 horizontally.
