The railway will mobilize domestic and export-import cargo generated in the Aburrá Valley and the nearby Eastern Antioquia to and from the port of Santa Marta. It will enable integration and operational articulation with the country's multimodal logistics network (Magdalena River, 4G Highways and Dorada – Chiriguaná railway network). In addition, it will integrate the entire population of Magdalena Medio de Antioquia, Boyacá, Santander and Cundinamarca, providing transportation services to the population. The project will be executed in 4 functional sections: Section 1: Puerto Berrío – Cisneros Section 2: Cisneros – Hatillo Section 3: Hatillo - Bello Section 4: Beautiful – Industrial The initiative is part of the Departmental Development Plan 2024-2027 “Por Antioquia Firme”. The train is expected to benefit around 4,261,756 inhabitants.
