Description: The Tucano gold mine was acquired by Beadell Resources in 2010 and it covers approximately 2,500km2 of mostly contiguous exploration licences and a mining concession. The mine, located in Brazil's Amapá state, is Beadell's primary asset and reported its first gold pour in December 2012. In June 2013 Beadell Resources commissioned an US$11.7mn magnetic separation iron ore concentrator plant. This concentrate is extracted from the Tucano gold plant tailings as a by-product that is the subject of an off-take agreement with the Anglo American subsidiary Anglo Ferrous, which operates a large iron ore mine 5km from Tucano. Beadell increased production guidance for Tucano to 200,000-220,000oz of gold in 2014, from previous estimates of 190,000-210,000oz.
