Bridge Highways - Roads Paving Works Concessions Tunnel

Description: The project entailed building a new 24km stretch to connect Las Terrenas and Majagual on the Samana peninsula, and rehabilitating the remaining 99km of highway linking Nagua, Sánchez, Samaná, El Limón and Las Terrenas. It aimed to build a roadway in excellent conditions, including surveillance and value added services facilitating the transport of goods and services. The highway stretch, whose construction began in 2009, opened in October 2011. A consortium made up of two Colombian groups (Grupo Odinsa and Grodco) and a Dominican construction company (Consorcio Remix) was awarded a 30-year concession to operate the stretch.
