The initiative seeks to facilitate the transfer of those who live in the hills and must travel daily to the Plan de Valparaíso for reasons of studies, work or procedures. Likewise, it is envisioned that the cable car system will increase the tourist attraction of the city of Valparaíso, generating new poles of attraction around the stations, and will offer a transport alternative to decongest the commune. It is expected to connect the Rodelillo sector with Playa Ancha and possibly the Placilla-Curauma sector. According to the draft, this cable car would have a route from the Barón station, passing through the Rocuant sector until reaching the center of Placilla and that will allow up to 4,000 passengers to be transported per hour. In addition, it proposes a payment model integrated with Metro Valparaíso.
