Biomass Landfills Substations Transmission Lines

Description: The project consists of the construction of a waste-to-energy plant that will consist of four identical modules of 12.5MW each, with the capacity to treat up to 2,000t/d of waste, capable of supplying a city of up to 250,000 inhabitants with continuous operation of 8,000h/d. The plant will be installed in an area adjacent to the CGR Terrestre (Sitio das Neves) landfill in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, and will use the technology known as Mass Burning. The project includes the construction of a substation and a transmission line, which will send the generated energy to the Vicente de Carvalho substation, owned by a third party. The plant will have the capacity to receive and treat all urban solid waste (MSW) collected by the regular collection service and currently disposed of in the CGR Terrestre landfill, resulting in a long-term solution for the final destination of the MSW of the seven municipalities of Baixada Santista (Santos, São Vicente, Praia Grande, Mongaguá, Guarujá, Bertioga and Cubatão). The total project execution period is estimated at 36 months.
